Sometimes your name’s up there on the marquee And it seems like you’re doing everything on your own But take a look around and you realize you’re not alone There ain’t no trio with just one wizard And Hogwarts falls without Dumbledore’s Army So many witches and wizards risking it all keep the resistance alive And it won’t stop when Voldemort dies, we’ll build a better world on the other side We’ll only get through this together When you see the headlines think about what they missed Yeah I’m the boy who lived but so many helped with it I only destroyed one horcrux so there’s four more out there without Dumbledore, Hermione, Ron Weasley, and Neville Longbottom The other boy who lived, it don’t work without him Or Remus and Tonks, the Creeveys and Weasleys, Lavender Brown and Mad Eye Moody Put their lives on the line when it came time Trying to make a world where we can lead happier lives If you follow the plot of the story you’d know that there’s no such thing as the hero’s journey No wizard’s an island, there’s not use pretending we existing in a vacuum Like the works of Fabian Prewitt’s watch You remove one part, time just stops There ain’t no trio with just one wizard And Hogwarts falls without Dumbledore’s Army So many witches and wizards risking it all keep the resistance alive And it won’t stop when Voldemort dies, we’ll build a better world on the other side I can’t do it myself, I’m gonna need help All for one and one for all We’ll only get through this together

Oh I knew what I was doing when I sent that confringo charm your way Oh I knew that for you to fly I must set you free, release you from your cage But oh, I still believe And oh, I still can see That you will always be flying next to me With a letter in your beak Baby you’re alive When I close my eyes I can see you smile And I can feel your power All the kids are saying that you can’t be dead Got a letter, I’ll send a school owl instead I should have alohomora-ed your cage Instead you’re lying in a fiery motorcycle grave All the good times we had together All the cool mail you delivered Baby you’re alive When I close my eyes I can see you smile (and I know that’s hard through a beak) Baby you’re alive And you’re flying high All in mind (but that don’t mean it’s not real girl) Baby you’re alive

Every night we’re sleeping in a different place On a cliffside or under the trees Getting covered in snow in the middle of a lake Or on a mountainside pounded by sleet Well the spreads aren’t great but it depends on your tastes We’re scavenging for most of our food Mushrooms and fish isn’t such a bad dish But Ron really hates toadstools So I wish I were back at the old magic school I hear Hogwarts calling my name Join the insurrection, kick the death eaters out We’re gonna save the school again Ain’t got no plan and these clues are obtuse Like a children’s book covered in runes And everyone here is anxious and impatient Yeah we’re gonna have to choose a course soon Cause we’re six months in with just one horcrux found And three or four more to take down Voldemort’s power grows stronger each day Yeah we got a lot of work before May Cause it always goes down in May Well I wish I were back at the old magic school I hear Hogwarts calling my name Join the insurrection, kick the death eaters out We’re gonna save the school again Well we’re popping around to these small market towns Looking for some food to scarf down With the locket equipped it seems to inhibit The casting of my patronus Pass the horcrux in circles, share the burden around Keep the darkness from weighing you down But the party is fraying, coming apart at the seams With everyone acting so mean Well I wish I were back at the old magic school I hear Hogwarts calling my name Join the insurrection, kick the death eaters out We’re gonna save the school again Well I wish I were back at the old magic school Where I never had to think about food Smootching my girl by the side of the lake Doesn’t that sound great? Well I wish I were back at the old magic school I hear Hogwarts calling my name Join the insurrection, kick the death eaters out We’re gonna save the school again Yeah we’re gonna save the school again

Maybe you can go home Maybe you got a cottage with a roof Maybe you can go home Maybe you got some parents waiting for you Waiting for you Well there ain’t no going home for the boy lived Yeah there ain’t no going home when you’re the boy who lived There’s no music playing There’s no loved ones waiting Yeah there ain’t no going home for the boy lived 1960 to ’81, do the math now they’re just 21 Four years older than the son standing here now Yeah there ain’t no going home for the boy lived Yeah there ain’t no going home when you’re the boy who lived There’s no music playing There’s no loved ones waiting Yeah there ain’t no going home for the boy lived

Bathilda 01:44
When they say she’s an old bag of bones (they’re two thirds right) When they say she’s long in the tooth (it’s because of the fangs) When they say she’s a ripe old age (it’s because of the smell) When they say she’s no spring chicken (because the snake ate ’em) A decorated historian A hero to Hermione Someone that we’d really like to talk to Now but she’s just a human sack for a snake She’s a sack for a snake (she’s a snack for a snake)

Hanging out in the forest Thinking about the Sword of Gryffindor Helping with these horcruxes We need to destroy Then along comes Ted Tonks, Dean Thomas, Dirk Cresswell hanging with some Goblins talking ‘bout that same sword now Right place, right time Right place, right time Some months later we’re still in the forest still thinking about that sword So I said to Hermione, I was like, you know I can’t think of any other way we can destroy all these horcruxes so maybe we should find the Sword of Gryffindor Then along comes a silver doe who leads me to a frozen pool and At the bottom there’s the sword, how convenient Right place, right time Right place, right time You know my parents died when I was just a little baby and it sort of seemed like I was unlucky there for a spell, but maybe my luck’s starting to turn around, maybe we will be able to defeat Voldemort.

The Fallen 03:11
When I think about all the things people have done for me That’s when I think about the sacrifices of Alastor Moody Who spent a year in a trunk, imprisoned by the imperious curse And he died on a broom, just trying to protect me This trophy’s coming down We’ll bury it in the ground And it can’t repay the debt we owe But it helps to feel less alone When I think about all the people looking out for me That’s when I think about my friend Dobby Risking punishment to keep me safe from a basilisk And he didn’t hesitate to rescue us all from Bellatrix Now the tears are coming down As we’re digging up the ground And it’s not simply unfair that you died No it’s not simply unfair that you died Cause you didn’t die You didn’t die, you didn’t die They took your life No you didn’t die, you didn’t die They took your life

Time to decide Is it gonna be Hallows or Horcruxes? Ain’t no magic weapon with the answer Ain’t no crystal ball showing a course of action Is it gonna be Hallows or Horcruxes? Do you believe the legend of the Elder Wand If it’s undefeatable, why are all its owners dead? Is it gonna be Hallows or Horcruxes?

Alive 02:08
I knew these arms as a child You held me on my first motorcycle ride You left me on the threshold In the middle of the night You came back and led me To the world that changed my life I’m nestled in your arms again my friend One more beginning from an end Would you think it a lie If I don’t let you know I survived? Yes I died I died Yes I died (he died) Yes I died (we died) I should be dead But instead I am alive Alive! I am alive! Alive! I am alive! Alive! Through a complicated confluence of Wand lore, horcruxes, blood, and love I survived

about

During the year we sent working on Lumos, we wrote over 30 new songs. Some of them never made it past the demo stage. Some of them aren't that great. But some of them are really good and probably even could have found a place on the final album. We've compiled our favorite 11 tracks from all those demo and home recording sessions into a companion disc, which follows the events of Book 7 in a fashion similar to our new record. These are 11 entirely different songs from the 16 songs on Lumos.
